Job description | HVAC Engineer Yacht Building

As an HVAC Engineer, you need to have a good knowledge of the HVAC systems for the marine projects from concept design to manufacturing, especially the integration process. You make and check the technical outputs from detail engineering (routing, arrangement, and production information), and advise whether the designs and documentation are in accordance with class regulations. You are also responsible for coordinating the engineering activities and proposing solutions to technical issues during the construction and installation process. Furthermore, your tasks and responsibilities involve:

  • Coordination of integration of the HVAC systems into the vessel
  • Developing and checking single line diagrams (DID, PID)
  • Supporting, checking, and advising about the 3D model of the HVAC systems
  • Checking the routing of ducts and pipes and transfer inputs for detail engineering to detail engineering’s partner
  • Monitoring progress and quality of detail engineering
  • Evaluating and approving design changes, specifications, and drawing releases
  • Maintenance of several HVAC lists and datasheets
  • Cooperating with and providing input to other disciplines (structural, interior, electrical, outfitting)

Job requirements | HVAC Engineer Yacht Building

  • BSc. or MSc. in Naval Architecture or Marine Systems
  • +3 years of experience in HVAC engineering
  • Experience in Shipbuilding and/or Yacht Building industry
  • Good working knowledge of AutoCAD 2D, knowledge of Siemens NX is a plus
  • Strong sense of esthetics in design
  • Excellent communication skills in English
